Velcro Replacement
Stef wrote in to say that the velcro that holds the batteries on their tray is getting worn. Have any of you had this problem, and if so, how did you deal with it?

I can't answer with real time experience but it is something that I have thought about. Velcro has two sides. The rough side is called hook. Its softer mate is called loop. On the Travelscoot I have added a long piece of the hooked taped on top of the long softer mate piece so that I hand a long enough strap that could "wrap" velcro completely around the battery and up to the other side of the battery for a stronger hold onto the frame. I have been thinking about the day that the strip that is attached to the Travelscoot should wear out like Stef has experienced. I believe you should be able to glue a new two sided velcro strip to the frame using a industrial type adhesive of some sort. I would go to Home Depot, Lowes or other hardware store and see what they would recommend as an adhesive that would work on the metal.
I wonder if TravelScoot would sell just the bag that the lead acid batteries are sold in? It looks like it would hold two of the Li-Ion batteries and it would give them "a handle".

ReplyDelete(also does anyone here have the battery bag and a Li-Ion battery that could test my theory?)
