This is from my first extended outing... Anyway, TS went everywhere, and I was out for over an hour. Great little machine - easy to set up, easy to drive and comfortable to sit on.

TravelScoot Junior and Polio

My TS Junior arrived, my husband (the soon to be wrangler, love that Elizabeth) put it together in a flash. The dog helped a bit as you can see by the pic. I have read everything you all have written with great interest as it is very helpful. Thanks!!
We live on a not so smooth dirt road - No problem! It went up a gravel incline to the road very easily. I felt like I had to lean in places and it was a bit "nervy" at first, but I'll get the hang of it. And we had a practice session putting it in the back of our Subaru. Handle bars down, battery off, and I can lift it myself if I have to. CI would rather not though, so am keenly listening to what everyone else is doing.
Is anyone else out there a polio survivor?

Cat House of the Kings near Fresno, CA

A while back I took my TravelScoot to an indoor/outdoor cat sanctuary, Cat House on the Kings, which is near Fresno, CA. The scooter, especially the luggage basket, was a big hit with the resident felines.
On the Go in Amsterdam with Ruth
I have been scooting happily around Amsterdam for several days now without significant problems. Unlike a larger scooter, the TS is welcome on the city trams, so getting around has been easy. I have used a number of sources to check out places in advance for accessibility. The Rijksmuseum is NOT friendly for scooters, and they do not have anywhere secure to park it even if you are willing to surrender it for a wheelchair. However, the Van Gogh Museum, the Jewish Historical Museum, and the Hermitage Amsterdam are all accessible on a TS. The Dutch have been very curious and friendly. The biggest challenge so far has been that sometimes it is easier to scoot in the bike lanes than on the sidewalks, and the bicyclists here all seem to ride like mad bombers! I am adjusting to a "holy terror" style of riding in self defense.
