From ship to shore and shopping to sightseeing

Alan took this spectacular photo when we were heading back to the ship in Cozumel.

Because of my TravelScoot I was able to get from ship to shore and go as far down this street shopping and sightseeing as time would allow. Without getting too sappy all I can say is I have pictures in my head now of things I never would have seen without it. As a lifelong lover of water--in a pool, at the beach, or on the open seas--this trip meant the world to me. Of course now I'm wanting to do it all over again, to a different destination, and maybe even try an excursion or two!

If you've been contemplating getting a TravelScoot (or some other type of scooter), but haven't been able to get past the stigma of using one, dig down deep and get past your fears. You won't regret it.

  1. we have now been on OVER a dozen cruises with our travelscoots and would not have been on ANY of them without them! my feelings? no grass growing under my feet honey! most people you meet are nice to you and want to know more about the scooter. they want one or know someone that might.

so far i have only had one encounter with a miserable old woman that made a crack as i rode by and i stopped dead in my tracks and looked her straight in the eyes and told her she was a mean old wrinkled crone and i hoped some day she had a little fun in her life. she made a face at me and i laughed and rode on!

let the wind hit you in the face people, ride on!!!

  2. I am seriously considering getting one of these. I have a Pride Victory 4-wheel scooter that I have had to use the in past because of spine and knee issues but my travel has always been limited to where I could drive to (the scooter lift is attached to my SUV).

I know I'm spoiled by the speed and the distance of my Pride scooter... but I am curious if this would fit a need for traveling / siteseeing.

    Please - any recommendations?

  3. I don't have direct experience with the Pride, so I can't compare the two, but from looking online, I think it would be kind of an apples/oranges comparison... kinda like comparing a Cadillac with a Golf Cart

They're really quite different. The Pride appears to be a very well appointed "luxury" sort of ride, and the Travelscoot is a very much a stripped-down, bare-basics "utility" vehicle.

I'm sure you would not be as comfy spending all day on a Travelscoot as you would on a Pride, but as you've noted, no one is going to tuck your Pride under their arm and stow it on the plane, train, taxi, bus or boat for you.

A travelscoot would *definitely* expand your options.

If you're wanting to go back-country-hiking or mountain climbing, it might not expand them *that* much But you can definitely go anywhere that's paved, and you'd have a fighting chance at places with hard-packed paths and firm gravel-beds.

It definitely would free you up from being stuck with your own vehicle. You can stow this thing in anyone's car. It's *easy* for me because I just lever it up into the back of my minivan without even folding it down, but it can also go in the trunk of my husband's car, and if we need to haul stuff *and* people, I can fold it up and not sacrifice that much cargo space.

It takes up less room, when folded, than my stupid Rollator does, and I'd swear it was lighter, but that may just be my mind playing tricks on me.
