Scooter Maintenance

Bee and Sarge have been using their TravelScoots for over a year, and Bee has some advice for us:

"I wanted to remind everyone that you do have to do some maintenance on the scooters. Both Sarge's and mine have had to be tightened with those little tool thingys Hardy gives you. Especially at the place where the pole goes up and down, that clamp comes loose and will slip out of the slot if not tightened and then you can't steer it. Just takes a moment, but do it okay?"

I haven't experienced this yet, but I do finger-tighten various clamps from time to time. It's a minor adjustment and easy to do. Thanks for the tip, Bee!

  1. you're welcome! the first time it happened to us we were in a walmart and sarge's came loose and he could not steer. it's much easier to tighten before it gives out! in a store! yikes!

  2. Thanks for the tip Bee. I too often finger tighten the clamp on the steering column and the one under the seat. I will check into the tool bag again and see which tool fits those.

Since I put a lot of weight on the steering upright with totes of groceries that clamp has to be tight or my handle bars will just slide down because of the weight.

My new seat is supposed to be here on the 1st of Sept. I am going to go store cruising on the scoot just to celebrate :)
